Financial Crime and Compliance Specialist (Guernsey)

Who we are:

Aston CM (Guernsey) Limited is a regulated payments services firm which provides international and domestic payments, money remittance, multi-currency accounts as well as foreign exchange transactions (as a matched-principal broker). Our clients typically include investment funds; fiduciary structures; family offices; non-bank financial institutions; wealth managers; and high net worth individuals.

The role:

The Compliance team is looking to expand, adding a highly motivated, detail-orientated and enthusiastic individual to a dynamic and ambitious cross-jurisdictional team. You will be responsible for providing corporate and private client onboarding and regulatory compliance support to the business.

Key accountabilities:

Financial Crime Compliance

  • Onboarding for private and corporate clients, including conducting Customer Due Diligence and Enhanced Due Diligence.
  • Collation of onboarding documentation, verifying beneficiaries and liaising with counterparties for ‘know-your-transaction’ documentation.
  • Work closely and transparently with Aston’s sales team and compliance colleagues to ensure efficient, effective and compliant onboarding processes.
  • Conducting periodic and trigger reviews.
  • Reviewing ongoing transaction monitoring on clients.
  • Support the production of weekly/ monthly reporting for the MLRO.
  • Acting as one of the firm’s Nominated Officers.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Undertaking Compliance Monitoring activities.
  • Supporting the Compliance Officer with all compliance and risk activities including:
    • Regulatory returns.
    • Regulatory engagement.
    • Compliance registers and logs.
    • Development of policies and procedures.

Skills and experience required:

  • 2-5 years’ experience in financial crime/onboarding and/or compliance.
  • Good understanding of relevant Guernsey regulatory frameworks.
  • Good understanding of onshore and offshore fund and fiduciary industry, operations and structures.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with a cross-section of colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Inquisitive, analytical, accurate, organised, and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Personable, proactive, enthusiastic and confident and able to thrive in a robust and fast-moving environment.
